73 Proposes for Reform the Support System of Tabas Mechanized Mine Central Mine using Instrumentation results Mohsen Rahmanipoor m rahmanipoor@mi iut ac ir Date of Submission 2014 12 24 Department of Mining Engineering Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan 84156 83111 IranDegree M Sc Language FarsiSupervisor Lohrasb Faramarzi lfaramarzi@cc iut ac irRaheb Bagherpour bagherpour@cc iut ac irAbstractTabas coal mine is located 85 km from city of Tabas South Khorasan province Iran This mine has been designed by using longwall and room pillar methods to produce1 5 million ton of coal annually To achieve this annually production amount it needs toprepare stability conditions in mine galleries and passageways One of the mostimportant problem in Tabas coal mine is convergence of the galleries due todisplacement of roof floor and walls The most common type of convergence in Tabascoal mine happens in floor area that is called floor swelling In this research convergence of transportation and ventilation tunnels in panels of 2 3 has been studiedby application of finite difference and using Flac3D software Axial force of rock boltsof panel 2 3 of Tabas Parvardeh central mine was analyzed it was determined thatinstalled rockbolts in ventilation tunnels roof have very high safety factor whichacceptable results were obtained if install spacing of support system could be changed Also rockbolts which is installed in transportation tunnels walls have fractured andcracked about 10 m nearby workface which got stable by changing rockbolts pattern ofwall and suggested pattern of 3 1 and rockbolt failure was prevented To improve anddecrease floor swelling the support system was suggested that declined the amount offloor swelling from 50 cm to 20 cm in transportation tunnels Keywords Longwall mining Support system Floor heave Rockbolt
